Mexico’s subscriber base of over 100 M makes it one of the largest mobile markets in the world, and up until now one of the most difficult to reach, because local operators have been actively blocking international routes. Thanks to Nexmo’s new local carrier links to Telcel and Movistar, you can now deliver messages to most Mexican subscribers.
Iusacell is in the process of migrating their existing CDMA client base to GSM. Nexmo expects that migration to be complete by the end of the summer, at which time we will make that carrier available via direct links. Until then we will continue to use ss7 to reach this carrier.
Since local law forbids personalized senders, all senders will be replaced with a random numeric sender defined by Movistar and Telcel. Concatenated messages are also supported. For carrier restrictions click here.
