Although it is a small country with around 4.5m subscribers, Lebanon is one of the most active SMS markets in the Middle East region. But not without delivery challenges!

Both carriers Alpha and MTC are actively involved in blocking international routes, and putting in place interworking fees that can easily reach 0.05 EUR per SMS.

To reduce the termination cost, Nexmo is launching today its local direct links to both Alpha and MTC. That will cut the cost to 0.021 EUR per SMS!

Furthermore, the new links provide very high performance both in latency (our live tests recorded less than 5 seconds real latency to handset!) but also in DLR and Success Ratio.
